I’ve collated a couple of lessons learnt in this little letter for myself,
written to remind myself when times aren’t so great.
I hope it helps you too, whoever that's reading this, in one way or another.
Put out things you believe in, and only when you’re ready.
Stop feeling obligated to post just to keep things alive, or to keep to timeframes. Especially not things you don’t feel sure about. Stop being so preoccupied with numbers on little screens. The only way to get through that, is to believe in your work. Relax, girl.
Stay true -
To your work, your style, yourself. Don’t stray off just because something, anything is ‘easier’ or would garner more ‘likes’. Good things will follow along, have faith in that.
At the same time, don’t be afraid to experiment.
People won't always like what you do, and that's OK. What really matters is that you're pushing your boundaries to see what else you can do, what else you can create. You’ll never know, hon.
Get up and get active.
No more moping around, idling and drowning in your insecurities.
Get up and get on your little dance workouts. Stop feeling upset about your body and keep moving.
You know damn well a good body equates a good mind and a positive mindset.
Don’t give yourself these unnecessary burdens when they could’ve been avoided.
Say YES, don’t be afraid of not being good enough.
Keeping searching for opportunities and do as much as you can, while you can.
There's only so much time before you step out into the working world. Keep prepping yourself for what's to come, whatever it may be.
Last but definitely not least,
Stay humble but know your worth, girl. Don't settle for anything lesser than what you deserve,
and the only way to deserve better is to become better.
You want something good, gotta make sure you're deserving of it hon.
Opportunities and the right people will come into your life when the time's right.
Embrace this rollercoaster that is life, but know that things would eventually be fine.
More than fine, because you’re gonna MAKE it gurrreeaat.
What you’re doing now is simply fuelling up.
So keep creating and focus on building yourself, bbgirl.
